ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Under the direction of the General Manager, Equipment, the Account Director acquires, retains and grows customers within a defined territory. This role requires an individual who is motivated to succeed in a strong objective based and target driven environment. An Account Director will utilize a consultative sales approach to represent the organization to prospective customers; assessing their needs, describing product features, and acquiring new business in the west end of the greater Toronto area..
BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate holds 3-5 years of direct sales experience working in an industrial environment selling capital equipment. Post-secondary degree/Diploma is an asset. Other key skills include knowledge of professional selling techniques, an ability to handle difficult, competitive selling situations and a familiarization with production facilities in order to assess operations and provide viable cost-effective solutions for customers. Strong computer skills and previous experience with CRM software is an asset. Exceptional negotiation and written/oral communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with various levels of management. Goal oriented self-starter with an energetic and competitive spirit. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify opportunities, manage the sales cycle and build a sales pipeline the underpins revenue targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with current customers to retain and grow the business.
• Communicate and conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects and customers daily.
• Manage and interpret customer requirements – engaging clients to understand, anticipate their needs and/or identify pain points.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of the Solution’s product offerings and recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES continued:
• Coordinate with company staff to provide exemplary service to customers.
• Collaborate with the team to develop key customer relationships and strategies for increasing sales.
• Assist in preparing responses to RFPs (request for proposals) and RFIs (request for information).
• Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
• Maintain knowledge of competitor products, identify, and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies.
• Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and trends and respond accordingly.
• Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts within the CRM system in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy.
• Regularly meet with the General Manager to review established KPI metrics, including sales activities, pipeline, and status of opportunities.
